To us, the term Expo Engineering comprises the development, conception and implementation of exhibits and exhibitions. Knowledge can be experienced as palpable fascination – not only in schools, but also in museums and science centres. Here, you benefit from our activities in the fields of Science Events and Consulting: Our knowledge and experiences in both areas cumulate in the field of Expo Engineering.

Fascination microgravity
How do liquids, flames and magnets behave under the influence of microgravity? The experiment-suitcase “Fascination Microgravity” (www.minifallturm.de) addresses all of these issues in schools: With the help of a wooden fixture a drop capsule, holding one of four experiments, is being dropped from the height of two meters. Meanwhile, a camera is taping what happens during the few seconds of zero gravity. Doing research under space conditions in your own classroom - this way, science cannot only be experienced but, at the same time, becomes comprehensible for children and teenagers.

For the demonstration of microgravity in science centres, museums or visitor centres, the machtWissen.de AG develops interactive stations for exhibitions and fairs according to their special mechanical and didactical requirements: Facilities with a drop distance of up to 8 metres demonstrate the effects of microgravity. According to the wishes of the operator, the degree of customer interactivity is adjustable . The user can choose the amount of provided information via integrated intuitive software.

Microgravity on customer request: We offer individual concepts for your ideas.

Planet Scale. You surely know the challenge of explaining complex physical phenomena in a comprehensible way which appeals to different age groups alike. Meeting that challenge is the aim of the “Planet Scale as the visitor of your institution will enter new worlds with a step on the „Planet Scale“. Intriguing information and fascinating views of the planets are featured on a high-resolution touch screen. By touching this screen one can interactively and intuitively choose between the eight planets and the moon. Thus you get information about their composition and about the operating physical interactions on the particular planet in an interactive and playful way. At the same time the scale measures the body weight, and converts it into Newton to show which weight works on the body. Of course, all steps are explained through accompanying texts. _You can literally dare a leap in microgravity with our Gravity Jumper. The trampoline we developed is in all points a valuable asset for science centres and exhibitions dealing with microgravity. The trampoline measures 1,25m x 1,25m and is suitable for use inside and outside. It can be set up elevated on the floor or at-grade. The double sided back board is designed to match the topics “space” and “weightlessness”. As optional accessory, a roof designed as starry sky is available as well: space conditions on earth.

Every person on the Jumper receives a 3-axis acceleration sensor which is fastened with an abdominal belt around the waist. The sensor transmits the data of the flight path to a monitor showing the course of the acceleration. It thus becomes apparent that the acceleration is followed by short time of reduced gravity. This way, the jumper as well as the spectators learn about the interrelation of inert force and gravity.

Fascination Astronautics
Learning by doing is the most efficient way of creating knowledge. This is why the suitcase "Fascination Astronautics" contains a complete set of components for model rockets. While putting together the models, the pupils learn about the physical principle of rockets. They gain insight into pyrotechnics and are moreover acquainted with the security code for model rockets which they need to know to eventually launch their self-constructed rockets from the self-made launch pad.
